The Experis Tech Cities Job Watch report provides employers with a barometer of the changing trends within the technology sector.
Each quarter, Experis conducts a survey of hiring demands and salaries, developed in order to track the ever increasing job opportunities in UK tech. The core focus of the survey is on 10 UK ‘tech cities’, all of which are featured in the Tech Nation report. They are: London, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle upon Tyne, and Sheffield.
Within the report, is a comprehensive analysis of the hiring demands and salaries of each of the 10 cities featured, divided into tech sectors. Big data, Cloud, IT security, Mobile and Web development are compared with the city average of each of the tech hubs. One very promising finding contained in the report is that of all the cities analysed, the overall number of permanent IT roles advertised increased by 18% in Q1 of 2015.
The report further demonstrates the positive growth of the UK tech sector whilst reflecting the findings of our Tech Nation report. The demand for a digitally-savvy workforce is growing, which was evident in our recent Digital Business Academy numbers update. 12,000 people have now signed up to the programme across the UK, with 56% wanting to start their own business in the future.
