Blog: Tech City Visits Buckingham Palace

Last night saw a selection of Tech City businesses large and small, entrepreneurs and investors attend a reception at Buckingham Palace, hosted by HRH the Duke of York, to celebrate the area’s success stories and look forward to the future – and of course to network.

Tech City companies represented included Yammer and UsTwo, as well as the SAE Institute who are opening their new offices in Shoreditch on December 1st. The event also welcomed several major overseas companies, such as Crystal Digital, Electronic Arts and Deluxe – as well as local media such as Mike Butcher of TechCrunch.

The Duke, who recently spent an afternoon in Tech City at The Trampery and White Bear Yard to meet local companies and see the area for himself, praised it as ‘the place to be for the next generation of digital entrepreneurs’ – we look forward to welcoming him back to see even more success stories in the future. We’ve posted some pictures below – some of you may spot yourselves…

  1. I thought it was a great event. Seemed more like a “thanks” than anything else, which was really great. I particularly liked Mike’s “Lounge Suit” ;-)
