How old are you?
It’s a question you get asked a lot in your youth and I recall it driving me mad for what seemed like forever!
In my early twenties I felt like there was an unwritten law that you couldn’t be taken seriously unless you were of a certain age. As it wasn’t clear what that age was, on my 25th I killed two birds with one stone and threw a huge party celebrating my quarter century and the launch of my first business in one crazy day.
Did it help? Yes, I became less conscious of my age, and my bank manager seemed to be more accommodating, but maybe that was just in my head.
Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, supposedly that’s another sign of age, your mind starts to wonder…
This is the point when I should give you all the scary statistics. The demographic tsunami, the increase in dementia, and the horror stories relating to institutional long term care.
Except I’m not going to.
