We recently received a query from a member of the community asking about the work we do when it comes to broadband. Below is the full response.
With regards to broadband, we recognise that a strong connection is the lifeblood of the digital business community and it’s something we take very, very seriously.
We consistently canvas the community directly and feed their opinions back to policymakers to ensure they are taking the issue as seriously as we do. As such, we welcomed the recent positive announcements that the government made with regards to the digital economy and the significance that was placed on it’s continued growth to guarantee the the UK’s overall competitiveness on the world stage.
It goes without saying that the expansion of programmes like the Connection Vouchers Scheme certainly helps but there’s a lot more that needs to be done. We regularly meet with service providers to communicate the significance of the issue, pushing them to expedite the development of their infrastructure so that businesses get the best service, for the best value. Furthermore, we seek to educate the community on how exactly broadband is delivered, the various options that are available and the potential for a revolution in the business case through shared bargaining power. We do this through our website, blog and strategic communications strategy. We are also fully transparent to the community and request feedback on an ongoing basis to inform our mission.
We really do appreciate your feedback. We endeavour to do everything we can to learn from the community and iterate accordingly so that we can continue to strive for the optimum conditions for digital business growth right across the UK.
