Last week saw leading thinkers in digital from around the world gather at WPP Stream – an ‘unconference’ where people from across the digital / tech spectrum come together to learn from, and contribute to, the freshest thinking about the future of technology and communications. One of the attendees was Jeff Lynn of Seedrs, who gave an ‘Ignite’ presentation on why Britain is the best place in the world to start a company in 2012. We’ve embedded Jeff’s presentation above – below are a few words from the man himself about what makes Britain special…

“I came to London from New York seven years ago, and I have come to love this city not just for its cultural and social fabric but because I think it is an amazing place to do business. It is the most global city in the world, with strong and deep connections to every corner of the Earth, and it is filled with talented, energetic, ambitious people who want to do great things. Combine that with the UK’s top-flight universities, the importance of English, the world-class financial and legal systems and so much else, and London just struck as the place to be if you want to build a global business. So, three years ago when my (Portuguese) co-founder and I decided to set up Seedrs—a revolutionary online platform for investing in startups—doing it in London was the obvious choice, and it has worked out brilliantly for us.”
