If one evening this week you’ve found yourself on Commercial Street, passing Spitalfields or wandering down to Elder Street, you may have noticed some unusual festive lights flickering inside a certain office.
Yet these are no ordinary Christmas decorations. Designed by Reason, these clever lights create the impression of falling snow and encourage passersby to interact by tweeting a call to Santa Claus. David Marks, partner at Reason explains his company’s unusual Christmas gift to its East London neighbours.
“We sat down in the studio one morning armed with an idea, some tracing film and a projector and set about creating something to make people smile. By the end of that day we had developed an interactive light show that we hoped would embody the festive spirit. To anyone passing our office in the evenings, it appears that snow is falling inside the building and, for some extra Christmas magic, by tweeting #SummonSanta you can watch the big guy flying past on his sleigh.”
Based on Elder Street, Reason specialises in creating user experiences through design and technology.
