Last month you may have spotted that the government launched a new consultation, Financing Growth in Innovative Firms, the aim of which is to ensure businesses in the UK have the necessary access to finance to grow and scale effectively. Here at Tech City UK, we want to ensure your opinions on this are heard loud and clear.
The consultation will be published as part of the Treasury’s Patient Capital Review, for which we are calling for views on how best to increase the supply of capital to growing innovative companies.
A key element of this is the government’s proposed National Investment Fund, designed to address the potential funding gap should the Brexit process affect the European Investment Fund. As an ongoing concern for many operating in the tech sector, we’re particularly keen to hear a range of opinions and invite you to take this opportunity to be involved in shaping future policy.
For more information, see pages 61-62 of the consultation document, where you will find the complete list of questions (those numbered between 1 and 20 are perhaps most relevant). To take part, please email your views to [email protected] by Wednesday 20th September.
If you intend to make your own response directly to Government, please also forward us a copy to ensure your views are also reflected in our submission on behalf of the wider tech community.
